Chewing Gum and Deep Cleaning of Pedestrian Precincts
While the Council has a responsibility to manage litter there is no requirement to carry out chewing gum removal or deep cleaning. The BID has a contract in place to deep clean the streets and manage the chewing gum on the pedestrian precincts. The street furniture is also washed down and hot spot issues dealt with.
The BID funds many of the flowers in the Town Centre and has been voted Best BID at the South and South East in Bloom awards. The following floral projects are managed by the Worthing Town Centre Initiative from BID funding
The BID funds the Christmas Lights in the Town Centre and a scheme runs from Brighton Road in the East to Heene Road in the west.
The Council organises and funds the 3 large Christmas trees in Montague Place, South Street Square and outside the Town Hall.
