Town Centre Wardens

The Wardens are funded by the Business Improvement District and will patrol the BID area 7 days a week.  They will be ambassadors for the Town and will help both residents and visitors achieve the most from their visit to Worthing.  The role is multifaceted and they will become a key feature in the Town.

The Wardens will be tasked with the following:-

*         Business Crime Reduction in partnership with Business Crime Reduction Groups

*         Information on Worthing

*         Encouraging shoppers to maximise their visit

*         Educating shoppers to improve cleanliness 

*         Help to reduce the fear of crime

*         Business liaison

*         Reduce illegal trading in the town

*         Capture intelligence for Police

*         Report problems such as graffiti and uneven pavements to the Local Authority

There will be 2 wardens on patrol on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and 3 wardens on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.  The patrol times will be 10am to 6pm except on Wednesday when they will start at 9am and on Sunday when they will work 11am to 5pm.

The Wardens will have access to CCTV cameras and will carry Stopwatch radios so they can lend a hand when it is required.
