The 2001 Census showed that Worthing’s population was 97,568 and current estimates suggest that there are now over 100,000 residents in the town. There is a perception that Worthing has an ageing population; however the trend in recent years has been towards young families settling into the town.

Annual Expenditure on Food and Catering = £60.4 million
Worthing boasts over 400 retail stores in the Centre of town with many recognisable brand names represented; however it also has a strong independent retail offer. There are over 130 places to eat and drink in the Town Centre ranging from a sandwich “on the go” to a leisurely fine dining experience.
