A fantastic weekend was experienced in Worthing when the 4th Worthing International Birdman took place over the 13th & 14th August.
The serious flyers had their wings clipped on Saturday when only 2 flights could be cleared for take off due to high winds and rough seas; but the crowds were entertained by the world champion freestyle jet skiier a movie on the beach and wonderful acts on the beach stage.
On Sunday the winds improved slightly and the fun flyers started a great afternoons free entertainment by attempting to fly in costumes such as the Death Star from Star Wars, Batman and Robin and Lou and Andy from Little Britain. The serious competitors followed and Dr Bill Brooks became the first Leornado entry ever to win the overall Birdman crown with an impressive distance of 78.4m.
